Why We Built This Site
Minnesota gives the public access to many court records, but the source depends on the type of record. Dakota County District Court handles civil, family, probate, juvenile, criminal, and traffic cases through Minnesota District Court. Court Administrator / District Court Administration handles certified court copies, older files, and records not available through Minnesota Court Records Online. The Dakota County Sheriff's Office manages jail and warrant information, while marriage licenses and certificates are handled through Dakota County service and license centers. We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for each of these offices into one place.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
